Hilton Head Island-Bluffton-Beaufort metropolitan area was recently ranked the No. 1 luxury home market in the nation in The WSJ/Realtor.com Emerging Housing Markets Index Winter 2023. The editors cited the value of what buyers can get for their money as well as the natural beauty of the area and its amenities.  

The median home price in 2022 was $485,000, a 32 percent increase from 2020, according to the Hilton Head Area Realtors Association. Of the neighborhoods in the Beaufort County region, the association counted 21 areas with a median home price of over $700,000 and 11 neighborhoods with homes valued at over $1 million. Click here for the 2022 real estate report.

There were an unexpected 517,000 jobs added in January when only 185,000 were expected. The leisure and hospitality sectors led the surge with 128,000 added jobs. The U.S. labor force now has more workers than pre-COVID, but still not enough to keep up with population growth.
