THE BACKGROUND
What inspired you to open MOUL Realtors? I got into real estate in 2014 and worked for a large franchised brokerage and quickly realized there was a large amount of turnover in the industry. I wanted to build something different with lower agent fees and provide a better and more unique service focused on our clients.
What motivates you each day? Every single day we have a new opportunity to find true happiness. My motivation is simply to build something great with a team that is motivated by my work ethic, energy and passion for this business.
What is the best business advice you’ve been given? “I want you to back yourself into a corner. Give yourself no choice but to succeed. Let the consequences of failure become so dire and so unthinkable that you’ll have no choice but to do whatever it takes to succeed.” - Jordan Belfort
THE BUSINESS
What is one of your proudest moments being in business? I spent around 90 days renovating my current Bluffton office building before turning my notice into my previous brokerage. That was an incredible moment to tell them I was moving on and opening my own brokerage. Without any help from anyone: no startup loans or business partners - just the full support from my loving Wife Sandra.
What makes you unique? People can talk about perseverance and persistence but when it actually comes down to it, most give up. But it’s at this exact moment of giving up that we find true success if we just push forward. Failure is a learning opportunity – that’s it. As an Entrepreneur at heart, I am unique because my failures have led to my passion of persistence. I do what I love everyday.
What do you love the most about living and working here? I have lived around the world (England, Hong Kong and Australia) and in six states. The longest I’ve ever lived anywhere in my whole life was five years. I’ve been a Lowcountry resident now since 2007 and can tell you I’ve never lived in a more beautiful place. The beaches of Hilton Head, the Bluffton May River, and historic waterfront in downtown Beaufort – we have it all!
