- The Town of Bluffton and Bluffton Breeze unveiled the first completed public art display, a Bluffton scene designed by local artist Lindsey Spears “wrapped” around a bus.
- Coastal Community Development Corporation has acquired 23 new affordable housing units in Beaufort County for affordable housing, backed by a $1 million pledge from both the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry and Novant Health.
Second Helpings celebrated the 7th anniversary of its Fill the Need Program, as well as presented its annual awards to three key collaborators in food rescue and distribution:
- The Supporter of the Year award was presented to the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry.
- Food Donor of the Year award was presented to Publix North of Hilton Head Island.
- The Partner of the Year went to David Martin, owner of Piggly Wiggly of Hilton Head Island.
- Hilton Head Public Service District has earned the 2024 Excellence in Education and Outreach Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s WaterSense program for the third time.
- The Sun City Hilton Head Community Association received honorable mention in the Ragan PR Daily 2024 Social Media & Digital Awards in the Instagram category.
- USCB celebrated the 20th anniversary of its Bluffton Campus, and mascot Finley was named the winner of the Peach Belt Conference Mascot Challenge Champion.
- Hargray provided 1,100 backpacks filled with school supplies for the Town of Bluffton’s annual Back to School Bash.
